Tree Pruning
Cost

Get Same Day Estimate

We've pruned small trees that are $350 and also pruned very large, stately trees for over $2,500. Your price will likely fall somewhere in between.

It all depends on the situation.

The most average scenario would be something similar to the following:

  • Tree is located in the backyard (inaccessible by a lift truck)
  • Medium sized tree that is around the height of a 2.5 story house
  • A few safety issues such as dead or hanging branches.
  • Some minor structural pruning to improve long term health.
  • Pruning branches away from a house, garage, or other structure.

This scenario would typically fall somewhere between $750 and $1,200.

Now, to take a deeper dive into what the 3 main factors are that drive the price up.

1. Where on the property the tree is located

The more obstacles around the tree and the further the tree is away from where a work truck would park, the more precautions are needed to do the work properly and safely.

2. Where the pruning cuts are made

If the cuts are isolated to only one small section of the tree, this keeps the cost lower. If the work is to happen all throughout the tree then this drives the cost up because it requires an arborist to do more strategic navigation through the tree.

3. Diameter of branches being removed

Simply put, larger diameter branches have more complexity to removing them safely and properly. Take for example, a thick branch overtop of a house. An arborist cannot simply cut the branch and then remove it from the top of your house. Instead, they must set up an extra rope that gets tied onto the branch to swing it away from your house. An everyday feat for arborists but it still takes time and precision to do it properly.

Think of the diameter of the branches as being somewhere around the size of a coin, a dessert plant, or a dinner plate.

Once the cuts get to be around the size of a dessert plate or larger, then we need to consider adopting a rigging strategy to perform the job well. All this, can increase the cost of the work being performed.

Tree Risk Assessment

Have an ISA-certified Tree Risk Assessor review all of the potential risks related to your trees and prepare a report unique to the Burlington area.

Canopy Elevation

Every cut we make is precise, maximizing the tree’s health and allowing the wound to recover rapidly. Clearance for sidewalks, driveways, residences, and communication wires.
