There are a few credentialing agencies but the most widely accepted is the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). To verify if an arborist is certified with the ISA, check out their website and search for the name/company that you are interested in contacting.
In addition, tree work is a very risky profession it is highly recommended that you contact a company with at least two million dollars in liability insurance as well as WSIB coverage.
